Yes, that's right! I actually did my duty as a citizen and attended Jury Duty for the first time! It might sound strange but I was excited to see what it was all about. I used to be an investigator for Abuse and Neglect in Nursing Homes in my previous career, so it is natural for me to want all the info and to be curious about the evidence that may or may not convict someone. Unfortunately, I was "deselected" as they call it. I think I was mainly skipped because my children are so young and I made it clear that I did not have child care on the subsequent days. Darn kids ruining my fun! HA! So I have to ask, have you ever had to serve on a jury?
Now as always, the outfit and makeup choice was important for me since I haven't worked an office job in over a year and a half! Here I was about to go in front of a judge, so I must look the part, am I right!? AND I have no "business-like" clothes anymore! My closet is pretty much lululemon and the occasional fancy going out top! My shoe options are slip-on tenni's, flip flops or the other extreme: 4 inch Valentinos and OTK boots! So believe it or not, this was a challenge!! I ended up finding my old reliable pair of Tory Burch flats, a long sleeved going out top and black leggings that were thick enough to be appropriate and called it a win! I chose minimal jewelry and minimal, natural-looking makeup. For the makeup, I went with a nude lip from the Splash Liquid Lipstick line in the sold out color Superior (try this one,
it is just as gorgeous), and two very neutral sand shaded eyeshadows in the colors Timid and Nimble (snag them here) or (in a set here) OR (on special with a Splash and Mascara here). I was still the most over dressed one there with the most makeup on and the only one with bright blonde hair!! Why do I always feel like I look out of place in Austin!? LOL! Oh well, I don't really mind it. Take it or leave it, I am who I am! I LOVE dressing for the occasion! Give me a reason and I will DRESS it! Xo, Sarah
